Our projects: Clay test houses

In accordance with our statutes, we will scientifically investigate clay and tadelakt as a building material by buying, building or converting clay test houses for our large study in all climate zones of the world. This is because we can only give the study the right weighting by using many different types of buildings (see below) in different climate zones in Europe and around the world and by recording the various values to be measured, such as humidity and temperature, on a daily basis. The longer (in terms of time) the data is recorded, the more meaningful the results will be later on.

It is also the work of our association to publish the study data. That is why this website will be helpful, among other things, to publish interim results or special results here in advance. However, we at the association will probably be sufficiently busy analyzing and evaluating the incoming flood of data once the clay test houses have been built or converted (which in itself will take some time). In our statutes, we have decided to construct, rebuild or convert various types of clay buildings in different climate zones.

What is meant by the term "miscellaneous buildings"? This is not exhaustive: commercial buildings such as restaurants, hotels, office buildings, company buildings, cafes and/or other non-commercial premises such as kindergartens, churches, schools, event buildings, retirement homes, hospitals and, of course, normal residential buildings. Clay has certain advantages that many of you have already heard about. We want to scientifically investigate the properties and benefits that are attributed to clay and prove them by means of studies.

Info: We took the photo at the top right from the website: www.lehmdiscount.de, where we buy our clay. I would also like to mention our cooperation with the company LevitaLehm. Their website is https://lehm.com
